Hush a bye baby

Hush-a-bye, baby,
in the tree top.
When the wind blows,
the cradle will rock.
When the bough breaks,
the cradle will fall,
And down will come baby,
cradle and all.

History:

Historical records show that a young pilgrim wrote this rhyme after seeing how Indians hung their infants on tree branches and it is thought to be the first poem created on American soil.
